These great little dinghies have all the perks of a wooden boat but unlike traditional wooden boats we use science and modern technologies to provide a low maintenance and economically priced boat.
This rig is a very capable boat for fishing, adventures, or ship to shore duties. How do you fit all that capability into 2.4m of boat you might ask? Our secret to being able to boast all that capability is our semi-production process which gives us the flexibility to tailor the fitout of your boat to make sure it is right for your intentions.
Mountain Boats is all about getting you out on the water in the best craft possible and the best water crafts are wooden water crafts. Wood is the original carbon fibre with a myriad of species offering lightweight and high strength characteristics that come together to make a fantastic product. The inherent buoyancy of wood is a big plus from a boating perspective but the from a bigger picture perspective wood is recognised as a sustainable material.
Some options that you may add to the basic hull to help your boating adventure include:
– Sculling Notch – free
– Oarlock sockets – $15 ea.
– Sculling sweep – $150
– Small Outboard (<2hp) Mount – $30
– Large Outboard (2-4hp) Mount – $200
– Painted on both sides – $125 (UV protection when boat is under constant use)
– Sail kit – $760 (includes a sculling sweep and sail by Star Kayak Sails)
Want to get a better preview of that new boat feeling? Email the goat that makes the boats, The Chief Marshall Charlie at [email protected] to request a copy of the user manual to find out more about this boat.
We also acknowledge that wood looks pretty and some people just like to look at wooden things. If that’s your dig then why not follow the Chief Marshall Charlie on Instagram @mountain.boats , on Facebook @mountainboats.charlie or check out his website www.mountainboats.com.au.
