Formula Vee Champion

Andre Curin in the Aussie Boat sales Formula Vee race car has taken out the double this year becoming both Victorian State Champion and Formula Vee Association of Victoria club championship, with the final round of the series at Phillip Island last week. In an exciting weekend of racing, Andre started on pole in the first race after smashing the Phillip Island circuit lap record in qualification and then went on to win the race by half a car length.  In a wet second race, a spin dropped him down to 8th before he fought back to finish a close 4th which secured him the points he needed to take the double.  Andre is in his 4th year racing Formula Vee’s and has risen through the ranks to number 1 as his skill and experience has evolved.  The AC racing team is a one car team considered a ‘privateer’, with no multicar garage, specialist mechanical crew, or team mates to assist with slipstreaming out on the track, making Andre’s and his teams achivements all that more significant. We are proud to be associated as sponsors from day one and enjoy the excitment of the racing and the socialising that occurs durng these weekend events.  Aussie Boat Sales mechanic Max Langley contributes his skills to the team, making it an even deeper association for us.   Plans for next year include a tilt at the National Championships attending a number of interstate races throughout the season at locations that Andre will have to learn on the job.
