Perfect Winter Boating

Melbourne can be a Winter Boating Wonderland, but you need to be prepared to rug up and get out on the water at short notice.  Ok, so sometimes the physical air temperature may be low, which often makes us fickle humans second-guess the idea of getting out on the water, but you might be surprised how nice it is once your out there.   Generally in Winter the weather is more stable, which means less wind and we often have those lovely sunny days with no wind at all.  The marinas all have vacant berths, offering off peak pricing if you are looking for a overnighter. Enjoy dining at the pubs and restuarants with a dusty red in front of an open fire at your favorite baycation destination,Queenscliff springs to mind or what about taking the kids out for a day on a winter squidding session. Maybe a cruise up the Yarra to see the city lights on your way home from Docklands after the footy. (Go Dogs).  This weeks forecast is a classic example – not much wind, not  much rain and mild air temperatures; like I said, perfect winter boating.  No matter what sort of on-water activity you enjoy, Melbourne is a Winter Boating Wonderland, you just have to take the plunge and make it happen.
