Back in 1964 Buck Pegg built his first Chaparral, a 15 foot tri-hull bowrider. Starting with two staff in a small workshop in Fort Lauderdale the rise and rise of Chaparral is stuff of legend. Now employing 1000 people in the worlds biggest single site boat manufacturing plant, the Chaparral brand is a world leader in sports boats with a solid reputation for innovation, quality and performance. The ‘Salt Water Tough’ Chaparral range was on display at the 60th anniversary dealer conference alongside its fishing and cross over stable mate, Robalo. We had the priveledge of attending the conference held at the superb Ocean Reef Resort in Key Lago and drove several of the latest boats over three days and believe me there is plenty to be exicted about! One of the real pleasures of doing these trips (our first since before Covid) is catching up with our fellow dealers from all around the world, the Chaparral/Robalo staff and the management team. Of course Buck Pegg was there as jovial as ever, beaming with pride at his fantatstic boat line up. The dealer network consists of 100 North American dealers, but also 50 international dealers from all corners of the globe. The international contigent this year was strong with dealers from Portugal, Cyprus, Mexico, Canary Islands, Slovenia, Puerto Rico and of course Australia amoung others. We will let you all know about the new models and upgrades in due course, but in the mean time you should be talking to us about this summer, we have some great 60th anniversary deals on stock boats and can still get you a new boat from the states for January delivery.
